Chemical Peel
Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons.

Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion removes a layer of surface skin to improve the appearance of facial scarring due to acne, chicken pox, injury or other causes, as well as uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, sun damage, tattoos, age spots and certain kinds of skin lesions. The skin is frozen, typically with a spray, and then abraded with a high-speed rotary instrument for a dramatically smoother, fresher look. After the procedure it is normal to feel a sensation similar to sunburn for a week or so, at which time most patients are able to return to work. The newly revealed skin will likely appear pinker than usual for two to three months. Patients should be sure to adequately protect skin from sunlight.

Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion improves mild to moderate sun damage, acne scarring, wrinkles and allows for deeper penetration of topical medications or skincare products. We offer the latest in microdermabrasion technology, the DiamondTome™ system. This crystal-free system uses a diamond-tipped wand to gently polish aging, sun-damaged and acne-prone skin, leaving skin glowing, smooth and fresh. DiamondTome is painless and safe. Only a small amount of skin is removed, so sensitive areas such as the face, chest, neck, arms, hands and back can be treated. Results are comparable to a light chemical peel and should be immediately visible. For optimal results, microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other procedures, such as laser facial and chemical peels, and is very effective for treatment of melasma when prescription bleaching creams are used after the procedure. Multiple treatments are recommended for full effect.

Laser Resurfacing
The breakthrough in laser resurfacing has been the Fraxel lasers. This Fraxel Re:store laser eliminates surface wrinkles, age spots and blemishes, tightens skin and improves acne scars with minimal recovery time. A Re:store FRAXEL treatment is not painful and results in some swelling and redness for 2-3 days. Often a series of 4-5 treatments are necessary to achieve the best results. Patients can resume normal activities after each treatment. The Fraxel Re:store can eliminate freckles and tighten skin on aging hands, neck and chest with great results. People with all skin types can have this procedure. These procedures are done under local topical (cream applied to skin) anesthesia.
We also offer the Fraxel Re:pair laser treatment. The Fraxel Re:pair uses fractional laser technology combined with an ablative CO2 laser. This means that the Fraxel Re:pair actually removes tissue which improves not only the texture and color of the skin, but also deeper lines and wrinkles especially around the eyes, mouth and jowls. This is all done without the complications associated with the traditional CO2 laser. The skin is refreshed as well as tightened.
Since this treatment targets deeper tissue, the procedure is done on ambulatory basis but under sedation in addition to a local anesthetic. The recovery time is a bit longer than the Fraxel re:store, but only one treatment is needed to see a lasting and dramatic result.
We also use lasers which treat small and superficial leg veins, red vessels on face, pigmented spots, and hair on all skin types. Results have been impressive.
HAIR REMOVAL BY LASER is very popular in our office. Laser Hair Removal Whether for hygienic or cosmetic reasons, is for the patient who is tired of temporary, often painful methods of removing unwanted hair.
